Jury Convicts Harrison Man For Armed Robbery in Weehawken

On Friday, November 22, 2024, a Hudson County jury convicted a Harrison man on all counts for his involvement in an armed robbery that occurred in Weehawken in 2022.

Mouhamed Ba, 31, was found guilty of Robbery in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1a(1), a crime of the first degree; Kidnapping in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:13-1b(1), a crime of the first degree; Aggravated Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(2), a crime of the third degree; Aggravated Assaulting (pointing) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(4), a crime of the fourth degree; and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4a(1), a crime of the second degree. The verdict was delivered before the Honorable Mitchell Pascual, J.S.C. following a week-long trial.

The charges stem from a robbery that occurred in Weehawken on January 29, 2022. The defendant arranged to purchase an electronic device from the victim through an online selling platform. The defendant robbed and assaulted the victim at gunpoint when meeting at the agreed upon location.

Ba faces 10 to 40 years in New Jersey State Prison at sentencing, which is tentatively scheduled for January 10, 2025. The State was represented at trial by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutors Kevin Sipe and Kristen Kinneary.
